Rescue 43


2008 Sutphen/Precision Custom

Rescue 43 has a 6 man cab, Hale 1500 rear mount pump, 400 gallon water, 40 gallon class A foam system. Its rescue components include four 100-foot pre-connected hydraulic reels -- two for cutters, one for spreaders and one for the rams. It has two electric reels, an air reel and a foam booster reel. It also has a set of Rescue 42 struts. sixty 4"x4'x 18" cribbing blocks, four step chocks and an assortment of wedges; 210 ton pound high pressure air bag system, three Milwaukee battery powered sawzalls, one electric sawzall, a tool box with various hand tools and six Drager SCBA's with 6 spare bottles; MSA thermal imaging camera, a plasma cutter, 150 pounds of oil dry in a drop hopper, and a crash kit. The truck includes a Command Light tower and the entire system is served by a 25k generator.

2008 Ford F-450

Service 43 stands ready for a variety of calls -- flooding, trees down, traffic control and hauling extra equipment and manpower when needed at an incident scene. Its high towing capacity comes into play to haul Ligonier's antique 1927 fire truck, "Cosmo," to parades and various events.

 
 
Tower 43


2002 Sutphen 70+ Tower

Tower 43 is the first unit out on all structure alarms. It has a 6 man cab, Hale 2000 gpm pump and 500 gallon water tank. It carries various hand tools, two T-N-T tools, a Clements hook, a rubbish hook, various pike poles, cutter edge saw, regular chain saw and a cut-off saw. It carries seven different ground ladders from 10-foot folding to 35-foot extension, a positive pressure fan, various ropes and riggings, a Bullard thermal camera and a mult-gas meter, six Dragers with extra bottles, and a highrise pack (hose extension kit). Hose on board includes two 150-foot and one 300-foot inch and three-quarter attack lines; one 150- foot two and a half inch attack line, one 300-foot three inch and one 1000-foot five inch supply line. The unit also includes a 7kw generator

 
 
Engine 43


2000 Sutphen

Engine 43 is second unit out for most calls (first on brush fires and stand-bys). It has a 2250 gpm Hale pump with a 500-gallon tank. It has an 8-man cab and carries various hand tools, eight Dragers with extra bottles, a 750 gpm portable pump, 300 feet of one-inch forestry hose, 1500 feet of 5" supply hose, 300 feet of 3" supply, four 150-foot 1 3/4" attack lines, one 300-foot 1 3/4" attack line, two 150-foot 2 1/2" attack lines,(one with an Elkhart blitz gun); carbon monoxide meters, gas meters, positive pressure fan, a Genesis hydraulic combination tool, a TFT foam pack with class B foam, and cribbing. It also has a 15 kw generator with a Wilbert 6000 light tower.

 
 
"Cosmo" (Cosmopolitan)


1927 American LaFrance

The beloved "Cosmo" was the first motorized pumper purchased by Ligonier. It was eventually sold but was bought back as part of the company's celebration of Ligonier's Bicentennial in 1959. It was subsequently restored and has been a popular feature at parades and civic gatherings ever since. This piece took first place in the State Fire Convention in 1994, 1995, 1996!
